Gerbil Surrender

I would like to introduce you to Spooky!


Spooky was surrendered last night as he tends to be a bit of a biter. We will work with him on this bad habit and hopefully have him available for adoption soon! Check back for more details!!

I have never meet such sweet gerbils! They have never bitten myself or any volunteers and will burrow into your heart as they do into their bedding!



New Chinchilla Arrival!

This is Rio!


A standard gray female chinchilla that was surrendered just over a week ago. She is a complete sweetheart that is a bit on the shy side and looks to be in good overall health! As soon as we get to the Vets she will be available for adoption! Please check back soon!

This is Charlie!


He was only with Apple Wood for 5 days and he was adopted!! Charlie’s name is now Loki and he and his new brother Thor are getting along famously! Good luck with your new furever home Loki!!



Sanctuary Mice

Meet Shaft and Ashwen. These two girls were surrendered to Longmont Humane Society and transferred to Apple Wood just over two weeks ago. Our Vet and I decided that because of their age and some health issues, that they will remain with Apple Wood for the entirety of their lives as Sanctuary mice.

Just wanted to give a quick shout out to say thanks to everyone who participated and donated to our first annual Fundraiser/Anniversary celebration!! We raised $504 for the rescue!!



Apple Wood Rescue would like to invite you to their First Annual Anniversary Fundraiser! Apple Wood will hit its one year mark for helping small exotic mammals in Denver on April 24, 2010 and we want to celebrate!
