This page is dedicated to the small exotic mammals that will remain in our care for the entirety of their lives. We only euthanize an animal when it has been determined that the quality of life is no longer at a compassionate level and that nothing else can be done to increase that level. Many of these animals have been with us for over 80% of their life and we are happy to be able to provide the specialized ongoing care they need. Adoption is not out of the question for the animals listed on this Sanctuary page, however there will be extra paperwork and a demonstrated ability to care for the specific needs of the animal you are wishing to adopt. If you would like to donate specifically for the long term care for one of these Sanctuary animals, please make sure to indicate which animal.

- Quin and Quill are two older lady degus who came to us in April 2013 as owner surrenders. Both these girls are very spritely and talkative for their age but are unfortunately not super friendly. They love to run on their wheel and munch on hay and sometimes will argue over treats as old friends do. For their age, they really are in great shape and we hope to have them around for some time to come.

- LuLu came to us in June 2013 as a pet store transfer. She has been diagnosed with diabetes and is an aggressive girl. She is a bit of a shy girl who prefers to hide behind her house instead of in it. We were contacted by the big box pet store to take in this little one as well as another diabetic, aggressive hybrid hamster named LuLu. Both girls have twenty gallon long aquariums to themselves and are available for adoption if the right hamster experienced person were interested.

- Rocky aka Rocky Balboa came to us in June 2013 as a pet store transfer. She has been diagnosed with diabetes and is an aggressive girl. She earns her name sake by standing up and waiving her paws at you! We were contacted by the big box pet store to take in this little one as well as another diabetic, aggressive hybrid hamster named LuLu. - Smokey came to us in May 2013 as an owner surrender. She is very aggressive and will latch onto you and not let go easily. For this reason, she now has a forever spot in our Sanctuary Program. Smokey’s coat is very stunning and we hope that we can help turn her attitude around to be just as stunning. She loves to destroy paper towel tubes and watch your every move. Smokey is available for adoption if the right hamster experienced person were interested.

- Cobbler came to us as an owner surrender in April of 2013. She is an adorable little dumbo eared girl but is extremely aggressive towards humans. Sam came to us also as an owner surrender, but a couple weeks later in May of 2013 from nearly the exact same situation as Cobbler. We were able to successfully introduce these ladies and they are now the best of friends and are snuggled up together all the time! They have been given a large 3 story cage with lots of items to tear up and play with and will spend their remaining days with us. Our number one priority with these girls is to build their trust in us. To let them know that they will forever be treated with respect and love.
